I messed up!

I messed up!

Hey friends, welcome back to the blog.

I’ve been meaning to write this for a while now. As I look back on 2024, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions. This year was supposed to be the year—a year of staying consistent, being intentional, and ticking off all those goals I had set for myself. But, you know how life is. Somewhere along the way, between a new job, busy days, and the usual ups and downs, I lost my rhythm. I didn’t accomplish everything I hoped for, and honestly, I felt like I messed up.

So, why am I sharing this? Because I’ve come to realize that it’s okay to stumble. It’s okay to lose track. The important thing is that we don’t stay down—we get back up, dust ourselves off, and start again. That’s exactly what I plan to do.

At the start of 2024, I had some pretty big goals. Some of them? I crushed. But others… well, let’s just say they’re still a work in progress. One of those was getting fitter. I wanted to shed a few kilograms and feel healthier overall. And for the first six months? I was on fire. My diet was on point, I was exercising regularly, and I felt great. But then life happened. Somewhere along the way, I fell off the wagon. No excuses, just reality.

Looking Ahead: A Fresh Start for 2025

Am I going to sit here and dwell on the things I didn’t achieve? Nope. Life’s too short for that. Instead, I’m choosing to look ahead to 2025 with fresh determination and hope. This year, I want to approach my goals with even more intention and grace—for myself and for the journey ahead.

There’s a verse that’s been on my heart lately: Philippians 1:6. It says, “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Isn’t that a comforting thought? It reminds me that God isn’t finished with me yet. He’s working in and through me, even when I don’t have it all together. Growth is a process, and it’s okay if it takes time.

Another verse that’s been inspiring me is 2 Peter 3:18: “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever!” It’s a gentle nudge to keep learning, growing, and leaning into God’s grace—even when the road feels bumpy.

Finding Grace in the Messy Moments

I’ll be honest—there were times this year when I felt like I’d failed. But looking back, I see those moments for what they really were: opportunities to lean on God. When we stumble, it’s a chance to draw closer to Him, to trust His plan, and to find strength in His presence. I’m learning that I don’t have to rely on my own strength all the time. God’s got me, and that’s more than enough.

As we step into 2025, I’m filled with a sense of hope. I’m choosing to trust that God’s plans are bigger and better than anything I could imagine. My prayer for you is that this year will be one of growth, joy, and grace. Whatever goals you’ve set for yourself, I hope you chase them with courage and determination—and don’t forget to give yourself some grace along the way.

I know I started this post by saying I messed up, but I’m ending it with hope. If this message resonates with you, I hope it encourages you to keep going, too. Let’s make 2025 a year of fresh starts, big dreams, and meaningful progress—together.

Thank you for being here and for letting me share this journey with you. If this post speaks to you, I’d love for you to share it with someone who might need a little encouragement today.

Take care, stay blessed, and I’ll see you in the next post! Let me know your thoughts at jo@jogonsalves.com!
