About Jo Gonsalves

Hey, I’m Jo. I’m a pastor, investment banker, entrepreneur, husband and a very proud dad. I live in Bangalore, India with my wife Pinal and our two daughters, Katelyn and Eden.

Pinal and I met back in Mumbai, in church of all places, and honestly that’s probably the best place two people could find each other. We fell in love, built something real, and in 2015 I made the move to Bangalore. We got married in 2018 and life has been a beautiful adventure since.

Pinal is a certified licensed lawyer, which means she’s easily the smartest person in the room most of the time. Outside of work she loves reading and is always trying her hand at something creative. She brings so much warmth, wisdom and colour to our home.

Together we are blessed with two daughters, Katelyn and Eden. Katelyn is our curious one. She’s always chasing the next thing to learn and right now she’s on a mission to speak Hindi. I’ll be honest, it’s equal parts adorable and hilarious to hear. Eden is four years old and already the smart worker of the family. She somehow always finds a better way to do things. They keep life very full and very fun.

Professionally, I’ve spent over 15 years in Learning and Development within the investment banking world. And if there’s one thing that ties everything together in my life, it’s a genuine love for learning. I believe growth never stops and I try to live that out every single day.

My Faith Story

I grew up in a Catholic home, going through the motions of religion like most kids do. It was familiar but it wasn’t personal. That changed when I met Pastor Vijay Belola. He became my spiritual father and through that relationship something shifted in me. I fell in love with Jesus and made a real, wholehearted commitment to follow Him. Nothing has been the same since.

Pastor Vijay and Virginia Belola are our spiritual parents and we carry deep gratitude for everything they poured into us. Today, Pinal and I are rooted in Bangalore and have been serving at HISNearness Bangalore church for the past 10 years under the leadership of Apostle Priji.

My Money Story

My relationship with money wasn’t always a good one. If I’m honest, it was painful for a long time. But as my faith grew, so did my understanding. I started getting real biblical revelation about money, what it is, what it isn’t, and how to steward it well.

That shift changed everything. And naturally, someone who loves learning as much as I do couldn’t keep that to himself.

Why I Write

This blog is simply me writing what I learn. About faith, money, leadership and life. My hope is that whatever you find here, you leave with something useful. Something that helps you grow, make better decisions or see God’s wisdom in a fresh way.

I’m not an expert with all the answers. I’m a learner who writes. And if something I’ve learned benefits you, that’s more than enough.
